Texas Mayor Shuts Down ‘Sharia Court’
Recently the City of Irving, Texas, made headlines when the media announced that a “sharia court” or tribunal would be set up to handle disputes between muslim parties. Now, the city has made an announcement that sheds new light on the incident.
“Sharia law court was NOT approved or enacted by the City of Irving,” claims Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne. “Recently, there have been rumors suggesting that the City of Irving has somehow condoned, approved or enacted the implementation of a sharia law court in our city. Let me be clear, neither the City of Irving, our elected officials or city staff have anything to do with the decision of the mosque that has been identified as starting a sharia court.
“Currently, Texas Supreme Court precedent does not allow the application of foreign law that violates public policy, statutory, or federal laws,” Mayor Van Duyne wrote on her Facebook page. “However, now that this issue has emerged in our community, I am working with our state representatives on legislation to clarify and strengthen existing prohibition on the application of foreign law in violation of Constitutional or statutory rights.”
I try to not get political on this blog, but I recognize that we are in an all-out war with islam. And by “we” I mean anyone who is not a muslim. Wherever islam rears its evil head, it must be stopped and killed. Stopping sharia courts is a major step in the right direction. Preventing them from even starting sharia courts is an even better plan.
What do you think? Do you support Mayor Van Duyne in her stand for American law?
